In 2025, Cabbage Market (Zelný trh) welcomed another new attraction – Christmas projections on the Brno Market Hall Building.
Who could forget the magic of Christmas, when the little bell tower opened the gateway to the Wallachian-style Children’s Village, delighting visitors of all ages? The illuminated Parnas Fountain dazzled visitors exploring Brno after dark with its ever-changing colours. At the children’s craft workshop, little ones could make their own unique candles and try their hand at blacksmithing, discovering the weight of a hammer and what it takes to work at an anvil. The Christmas tree and Advent wreath added to the festive atmosphere, while performers of all ages, including some big names, took to the stage for free concerts.
Visitors could find out about all the attractions and events planned for Christmas in Brno 2025 through vanocebrno.cz, social media and information boards around the city’s streets and squares. But there was also a new way to discover what was happening: a projection on the Brno Market Hall Building. The projections ran from 14 November to 31 December, every evening from 5 pm to 10 pm.
The continuously looping projection was updated every Sunday with the programme for the coming week of Advent. It also introduced visitors to the work of non-profit organisations supported by the Brno-střed City District, which provides them with free market stalls at Cabbage Market (Zelný trh), Freedom Square (náměstí Svobody) and, in particular, Moravian Square (Moravské náměstí), near the Jošt Statue.
The cheerful little dragon, the iconic mascot of Christmas in Brno, guided visitors through the programme and festive previews against a backdrop of a dreamy, snow-covered Christmas landscape.
