Where can you find the markets?

The markets have spread throughout the entire city centre. And every part is worth seeing!

The picturesque square will be filled with 111 stalls. In more than half of them, handicrafts are offered by craftsmen and bearers of folk traditions. The square is dominated by a decorated Christmas tree; the festive atmosphere is underlined by the illuminated Parnas Fountain and the interesting daily cultural programme on stage. This year, for the first time, families will find a large space for children to play in the Children’s Village full of fun attractions.

The area near the statue of Jobst is a centre of charity. Over 60 organisations will present their activities and offer products to support charity projects in the run-up to Christmas. Their offer will be complemented by stalls with handicraft products and hot drinks. The atmosphere will be highlighted by a decorated Christmas tree and a series of performances on stage. Straw Mountain will bring joy to children and an unconventional experience for adults.

This square is an obvious choice if you are going out with children or grandchildren thanks to its peaceful atmosphere. The dominant feature is the large wooden Halouzek nativity scene. One of the largest handmade nativity scenes in Central Europe, it numbers over a hundred figures. With the New City Hall and St. Michael’s Church as a backdrop, it is a truly breathtaking sight.

This is paradise for all gourmet lovers! Located in the cosy courtyard of the Old City Hall, near the Brno dragon, you will find the best of the Brno’s gastronomy. Restaurants that have been selected for the Gourmet Brno guide work together here.

This meeting point and entertainment venue offers 62 sales stalls, a Christmas tree and a daily cultural programme. A charity collection box is traditionally placed under the tree.

You absolutely cannot miss the 33-metre-high Ferris wheel in the park at Moravian Square as well as the ice rink with a skate rental shop below it.

A new feature of this year’s Christmas in Brno is a light trail that leads to Denis Orchards. Four sales stands will offer refreshments on the illuminated terrace.
