From the building of the main train station, you can walk to the Vegetable Market. Walk along Masarykova Street, turn left onto Capuchin Square (Kapucínské náměstí) and pass through to the Vegetable Market. If you want to take a short ride in Brno's tram nicknamed "šalina", get on tram no. 12 directly in front of the main train station building and get off at the Šilingr Square stop (Šilingrovo náměstí).
The intercity buses will take you to either the main bus station (Ústřední autobusové nádraží Zvonařka) or the bus station on Benešova Street opposite the Grand Hotel. The closest stop is the main train station (Hlavní nádraží), from which you can take tram no. 12 directly to the city centre. If you've arrived at Zvonařka, take tram no. 12 at the stop near the bus station.
If you want to start your Christmas market visit at the Vegetable Market, the closest stops are the main train station (Hlavní nádraží) and Šilingr Square (Šilingrovo náměstí). If you want to go the Moravian Square first, either the park or the statue of Jobst, take a ride to Moravian Square (Moravské náměstí) or Česká Street stops. To visit the market at Freedom Square, the closest stop is Malinovský Square (Malinovského náměstí). The best way to get to the Bašty light trail is from the Nové sady stop.
